When I read this blog I smiled – at last someone who understands me ! I really agree that there comes a point where you have so much information flying at you and around you that you can’t possibly assimilate it, let alone put it into action in any practical way. That's when I beat myself up, feel a failure and forget how far I've come ! I have also culled all my “insider” information gurus who overwhelm me and make me feel inadequate for what I'm not doing !!

It was also a great cloud of confusion when I was starting out. There were loads of stuff to read and to educate myself about that I thought, “Will this ever end?” And I sometimes get more confused when I started applying what I read. Good enough, I found a mentor who so willingly taught me all about I needed to know. He really guided and helped me a lot in my success today.

I'm thankful for this post and thankful for the invite to be a life time member of the MM”s site.I have pretty much been that person you are talking about in this post. I was signed up with a couple of business sites and don't get me wrong they were owned by wonderful people with very good information but I should have been focusing in other areas of learning. The worst part is I had no business joining these programs because I couldn't afford the monthly payments.Right now my business is offline with a “cookie cutter” site that I advertise in my newspaper ads and on my business cards. Sometime in the future I would like to be more of an online business and I'm sure my membership to Mom Masterminds will help me learn to do that step by step. Thank You

Hi Kelly. You are spying on me right? I have been very guilty of this in the past but have managed to get off my duff more lately thanks to Blogging internship.

Sometimes it really helps just to have someone you trust come alongside and point you in the right direction when getting started. Trying to start internet marketing (or anything else for that matter) on your own can be very intimidating. I don't think people intend to get bogged down in details but with all the (sometimes conflicting) information flying at you, it is hard to know in which direction to step out and take that initial action.

Just making a decision and following one plan of action long enough to get results is probably one of the most challenging things to be done. I saw a little acronym once which is very applicable here. Follow one course until successful – FOCUS.

What a great post, Kelly, and very timely. Your words of wisdom helped to confirm that I am on the right track. A little over a week ago I went through and unsubscribed from several lists, as my inbox was becoming overwhelming. Just like you shared, I started to feel more in control and more energetic almost right away. After learning and learning for quite some time now, there is a lot that I do know. And constantly being distracted with emails about what I don't know wasn't doing me any good.

I love the quotations that you provided, especially the one from Coach John Wooden. Each day there are so many steps that I can be taking, and I already have so many great resources to access (including your book!).

I've heard the juggling analogy a few times lately and that seems to fit here as well...I don't now how to juggle, but if I were learning how to juggle I wouldn't start with 5 or 6 balls all at once. With my business, I am now approaching it as getting one strategy in place at a time (one ball)
, becoming really good at that strategy, and then adding another one after I'm solid on the first one.

Really appreciate that your post is a sign that I'm on the right track.
