Our First Mom Masterminds Tweet Up (MMWeetup)

Today was a very good day :) I had the opportunity to meet with six other fun and interesting women who are working at home or are interesting in finding a way to work at home.

It was our very first MMWeetup (Mom Masterminds Tweet Up) that I hosted here in Lansing, Michigan.

My VA Tishia came from Flint and my friend Mary and her daughter came down from Gaylord. Laurie Ayers came from Grand Rapids. Kim Smith came from Middleville and Crissy Herron came from Flint. This was my first opportunity to meet Kim and Crissy.

The funny thing is that it didn’t feel the least bit funny! We’ve all spent so much time together online at the MM Forum and on Twitter and over the phone – it didn’t feel like a first time meeting. It just felt like meeting friends.

We enjoyed a great meal at Hall of Fame Cafe. They gave us a private room and wonderful service. We all had the opportunity to share what we do as a home based business and I asked each person if they had any networking needs or business questions.

We got some great advice and encouragement from each other – and I expect that a few of us will be taking immediate action on the input given! (They better cuz we’ll be holding them accountable!)

I cannot wait to see more of these MMWeetups going on around the US and Canada. We’re going to be in Ohio, Indiana, Florida and Toronto in the next two months for sure! Keep an eye out here on the blog for new registrations coming soon.

  • It was awesome. To finally get to meet some of the awesome women I know from online was great. I enjoyed not only the socialization but listening to every one share about their businesses (or in Mary's daughter Trisha's case - share about her desire to work from home & things she might like), the ideas that were thrown around to help market ourselves and the encouragement was priceless. Looking forward to the next one :-)
  • Thanks, Kelly, for starting these! Yesterday was so beneficial and I really plan to put some of the things we talked about into practice! The whole experience was just AWESOME! Can't wait for the next one! :)
  • So glad to hear that it went well and everyone had a great time. Love getting together with online friends to brainstorm and connect.
  • Awesome! Sounds like you had a great time. Where's the pics? ;)
  • I have to admit that as it became closer to the actual date I was starting to have doubts (cold feet) about venturing out to the middle of the state to network. I was thankful that I had met Kelly in person a few years earlier. The Monday previous Breakthrough session was on Comfort Zone, so I was convicted to go. I am so glad I did! It was a wonderful afternoon and I can't wait to get together again.
  • Look at you all! HOW AWESOME!

  • Oh, this is wonderful to see! I know I have felt so fortunate to have met MMers like Alice Seba, Vera Raposo, and Melody Thacker, and a couple of others, on several occasions.
It is so fun, and so supportive - and like you say, Kelly - defintely just feels like meeting long-time friends!

  • Personal, face-to-face connections are always so much more fun than over the screen we stare into every day!! I'm putting in a request to get Minneapolis on the calendar! :-)
