Happy Fifth Anniversary Mom Masterminds!

fifth-anniversaryIn June 2004, Mom Masterminds opened its doors and cleared a path for hundreds of seriously determined work at home moms to succeed like never before.

Some naysayers were quick to condemn our paid membership format. They said that the internet didn’t need another WAHM forum or resource site and certainly didn’t need one that moms had to pay to access.

We knew then what we know now – free forums are fine – but the advice you find on them isn’t always reliable.  People still stumbling around in the dark themselves offer newcomers advice without any personal sense of responsibility, often creating a sad destructive circle as those newcomers try to be helpful by passing the info on to others they meet.

Our community DID need a unique learning environment where every member could be assured that every other member cared enough about their business to pay to be there.

Then and now, moms need a safe place where they can ask for advice and feedback and get it from other moms who were experiencing tangible success in their own businesses and who are willing to share how they’re doing it.

I’m pleased to say that the naysayers were wrong. Mom Masterminds has been an amazing resource to our community for five full years now.

We’ve had the opportunity to work with about a thousand moms for some period of time and nearly 200 have graduated into lifetime membership. (Members only pay for 12 months – then receive lifetime free access.)

The Mom Masterminds Learning Center has been growing steadily since the summer of 2004.  We have taken care to tweak and update resources regularly and continue to add fresh new learning resources every month.  Want a glimpse into what you’ll find in our Learning Center?  Grab this Quick Guide and see how deep and rich our resources are.

It is never too late to join Mom Masterminds – and if you’ve ever had to drop your membership in the past, the doors are always open to you to come back.

Help Us Celebrate!

To celebrate and show our appreciation for the awesome work at home mom community that we’re part of – we want to give away FIVE FREE Mom Masterminds Lifetime Memberships. ($600 Value Each!)

We want to give these memberships to five moms who really want to get serious about buildling their online businesses – yet for one reason or another just can’t afford to membership fees right now.

Nominate a Mom for a Free Membership

We’re inviting you to nominate a mom you believe is especially deserving of this great opportunity to network and learn and grow their business – by leaving a comment with her name and business website URL along with your reason for nominating her.

Nomination Deadline: Midnight, Friday, June 12th

Once all of the nominations are in we will choose five of the most deserving moms and set them up with their Free Lifetime Membership right away.

  • I would like to nominate Laura Pink at Pink Like the Color, http://pinklikethecolor.com. I have really gotten to know Laura these last couple of months and she is such a hard worker and has a ton of great ideas! She loves to help others and always has an open ear when I need someone to bounce ideas off. I think she would benefit tremendously from a lifetime membership to Mom Masterminds and would put the membership to good use.
  • I would like to nominate Christie Garcia. She is just learning how to become a work at home mom and could really use the membership. Because she is disabled due to MS and diabetes, finances are very tight for her and her family. Currently, she is one of the admins at http://opentalkmom.com (I am the other) and I am teaching her what I know and am learning, but I know she would really benefit from the membership.
  • I'd like to nominate Connie Foggles. Connie is a WAHM with several blogs and is always willing to share what she knows with others. She's a great friend, participates in many social networking sites, and you can always find her friendly voice on Twitter. Connie is a mom, and also participates in many charitable endeavors. She can be found at Brain Foggles and Connie's View

    Find Connie Tweeting @conniefoggles

Connie would make an excellent contributor to Mom Masterminds!
  • I'd like to nominate Eliza from Life of a Home Mom. She's always willing to help out another mom and is dedicated to her blogs.
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Mom Masterminds and highly recommend it to others. I nominate Kelly Ling of Shamrocks web - http://shamrocksweb.com/ Kelly is a very gifted web designer and has been a boon to the WAHM community for years. She gives so much of herself to others and works tirelessly to contribute to her family of 5 children. She doesn't complain and rarely asks for help. Being a part of MM could really take her business to the next level.
  • I nominate my longtime friend Nichole Gabriel of http://fullearthsetc.com/blog/
She's a smart lady, great mom and would be an asset to our community. She's eager to learn how to leverage the internet for her business and will use the membership to the full, no doubt.
  • Val
I nominate my friend and VA Lauren at http://momsonlineretreat.com. She's a very quick learner and soaks up the new things I have her do for my sites. I just want to see her get all the information she needs to take her site to it's full potential. I know she will really use the membership at MM and appreciate how much info is there. She has to listen to me talk about it all the time. lol I also know that with current circumstances, this is not something she can afford to join for quit some time.

I'd just love to see her confidence in herself taken to the next level.
  • I would like to nominate my friend Corrie Petersen of http://www.virtualfreedom4u.com Corrie strongly desires to support the WAHM community in a meaningful way. She has given so much of herself to help me reach my own goals over the past year and has given valuable support to many members of my WAHM community. I would love to see Corrie attain the next level of success she is seeking in her business and I know a membership at Mom Masterminds would give her the resources she needs to do that. She is always eager to learn and to grow, and I know she would take full advantage of the membership.
  • I'll have to think about this one hard. Most all my business friends are already members. I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Anniversary to MM. I have a special place in my heart for MM. Can't believe I've been a member since 2004!

    Nell
  • I'd like to nominate Tanna Clark of Complete Organizing Solutions. I met Tanna at Blissdom 09 and she is a pleasure to meet and an organizing whiz. She would truly benefit from taking her business up a notch! http://www.completeorganizingsolutions.com/
  • I hope I can nominate more than one person, seeing as there is more than one membership up for grabs I'll hope it's ok.

The other person I would like to nominate I have not met in person but would LOVE TO! She is an amazing lady, A true DIVA. Penny Pinching Diva and woman of all trades, Shynea Hunter of http://pennypinchingdiva.com this woman is on her way to the top fast and Mom Masterminds would only make her get there faster!
  • I would like to nominate Shynea Hunter of Penny Pinching Diva http://pennypinchingdiva.com. In a short period of time she has become a very influential blogger. I love her site. It is informative and fun and interesting. She is definitely someone to watch because she is going far in the blogger world. I have watched her netowrk and grow her blog and I think she would truly take advantage of this opportunity!
  • This is such a wonderful anniversary celebration! I just have to say first of all that every mom - momprenuer should be nominated. Mom Masterminds is a wonderful community and I'm so glad to be part of it!

I actually have a couple of nominations.

First is actually a second- a second to Alyssa's nomination to Shynea Hunter aka @PPDiva. Talking with Shynea over the last few weeks and watching her blossom on her MomTV show you can tell that she is going places. Her blog is amazing and from what I hear she is also an amazing personal assistant. I'd love to see her being able to benefit from the Mom Mastermind community.

Second is Brandy A. from Not So Average Mama and Stitchblade Designs. Brandy has amazing talents and I'd love to see her taking it all to the next level. Just her sewing talents alone are amazing then you throw in what she can do with a computer mouse and a graphics pad and bam- you've got one hot mama! For her to be able to learn all the wonderful marketing tricks of the trade for http://notsoaveragemama.com and http://stitchbladedesigns.com would be a true blessing for her personal growth as a WAHM!
  • Jess
I want to nominate Shynea Hunter! She is such an awesome woman/mama! She has taught me a ton & is a real sweetheart! She's a wonderful blogger AND vlogger. You would truly benefit from having her join you! http://pennypinchingdiva.com
  • I would also like to nominate Brandy of Not So Average Mama and Stitchblade Designs. Brandy is an incredible woman, mom of 3, and works very hard to get her businesses where they need to be. She's fairly new to internet marketing and is eager to learn. She would definitely benefit from a membership to Mom Masterminds.
  • I would like to nominate Edra White. Edra is my daughter-in-law and she has been having a hard time dealing with not only my knuckle head step-son but her own family as well. They have a 5 year old together and have tried to do their best to ake it work but to no avail. Right now she is stuck with my step-son because her family told her if she went back to my son, she was not to come back home. She did and it is not working at all. She lost her job and my silly son is holding it over her head that he has to take care of her.

I am helping her to establish a VA business and to learn about earning money online so that she can go to school and have he option to work from home so that she is there for my grand baby when they move.

I know that a membership to Mom Mastermind will motivate, encourage and teach all she needs to know to succeed as a work at home mom.

She is determined to see her life take a different turn!
  • Miss Lila
    Hi Kelly,
I would really like to win this membership, so well,..... I guess I'm nominating myself. My daughters are already going great guns with their internet businesses and I'm just getting started. Carrie is so busy and I'm afraid gets a little impatient with me. Lisa is far away. So I've been a bit lax in getting started.

I think I've been a pretty good Mom for all these years. I always tried to make our lives fun and exciting. Along with their spiritual background our girls turned out wonderful and Russ and I couldn't be any prouder if we tried. They're GREAT.

So I don't know if this will count or not but I really want to win Kelly. I want my dear Russ to retire somewha in the near future, at least not work so hard. In 2 months we will both be on Social Security and I finallly realize with my health being the way it is, I will need to bring in money from my home. I've always been able to bring in a little side money and I miss it . I'm excited to get started and working with you would be a dream come true. Carrie and Lisa have great things to say about you.

In my blog I want to bring awareness to worldwide orphans, mainly China and Africa. I would like to somehow help the adoptive parents raise funds to bring home their babies. I also want to give parents helpful hints on having tea parties with children and teaching them manners. Some recipes, some pictures of my glorious grandkids, funny stories of my CRAZY childhood, frugal living, and some quick, quick I HATE TO COOK recipes for grandmothers so the kids think you're wonderful. LOL

Gee, I hope this wasn't a 25 words or less contest. LOL

Hope to hear from you. I'll keep my fingers crossed. But you may have to remind me why I have them crossed. HaHa

  • I would like to nominate my mom! She has wit and wisdom the likes of which the internet may or may not be ready for...but how will we know unless we give her a try!
It would make a lot of moms happy if she were able to grasp this resource and turn around and share it with the world, enriching it in the process. The world will be a better place if she is allowed to influence it with your help, Kelly. Thanks for this opportunity. ROCK ON MOM!!
  • Yeah. What Lisa said. ;)
  • I'd like to nominate Staci Jansma. She is a new WAHM as of this Monday. I believe she is a natural entrepreneur when given the correct resources.

In the last couple months she has used all the resources I have recommended to her and has even had the opportunity to use MM's wonderful resources. I have not had to do anything for her, she always goes to the resource and very quickly, learns how to do things. She has asked many questions to everyone who's willing to respond.

But Staci's membership with MM is almost over. She has paid for as much as she can while she still had her full time corporate job. She has tried to figure out how to afford MM but simply cannot afford it.

Because you see, right now until Friday the 12th, she has had a good paying (almost $30,000/year) job. But her husband has been relocated to another state so she has made the decision to stay home with the kids even though her husband's income will not be increasing or compensating for the income she was bringing in before.

Staci and her family have prepared for this time of change as much as possible. They are moving from a house to a small rental home and look forward to saving on daycare expenses. After recalculating her new budget she has an initial goal of making $500 per month from home.

I have no doubt that as a MM'er she would have the resources she needs to avoid learning things the hard way. Staci would use these resources and enjoy helping others as well.

I also want to mention that I have seen Staci give as much as she can to help other moms in need of things, yet she doesn't have anyone helping her. And she truly needs our help right now so she can quickly reach her $500/month goal.

Working with her has been a pleasure and I think you would also enjoy watching this mom quickly grow! So please pick Staci Jansma for this lifetime membership.
  • I'd like to nominate Tara McClenahan http://www.ibloom.us/associates/tara.html. She is an amazing woman and mother and has chosen to devote her life to coaching and offering relevant products to help other moms.

Her passion is to come alongside other women and to equip them to be the mom they dream of being. She is starting this coaching endeavor as a single mom and could really use the financial blessing, encouragement, and support associated with this lifetime membership.

She is dedicated to making an impact on women and their families and I know she would thrive if she is given the support and encouragement of MomMasterminds! By making her dream become a reality, it opens up the doors for her to help countless others acheive their dreams every day.
  • I would like to nominate my wife, Victoria Dixon...she is a wonderful Mum to our two children, (a 4 yr old girl and 1 yr old boy) and juggles bringing them up with running her own online business. She was very keen to be able to stay at home and raise our daughter when she was born having struggled for some time to have children. After a number of losses, sadly including our son Thomas who was stillborn (http://www.babythomas.co.uk) she didn't want to miss a minute of our daughters first years.

She set up her business http://www.enhance-me.com back in February 2006. She is a very hard worker and the business is a very original idea. It involves taking a customers photograph and placing the subject into another world, surrounded by fairies, or dinosaurs and much more. As the business is based around selling Victoria's skill there has been little to no financial risk for our family. She does everything herself, from her tax return to marketing, administration to the creation of new and original ideas for themes. She started of being very good at creating these Magical portraits but now she is mindbogglingly excellent at it.

With very little money to fuel her business I feel she really deserves to win this as she would never be able to afford to subscribe to something this useful. Thank you for this opportunity!

    Best Wishes

    Magnus Dixon
  • I would like to nominate Elizabeth Battle (http://www.battlescribe.com) for one of the lifetime memberships. Elizabeth is a single mom who I have been helping as much as I can for the past few months after meeting on a moms forum that we both frequent. She has always put the knowledge and resources I've been able to provide to work for her and is slowly building her freelance writing business.

When the MM Mother's Day special came 'round, I bought a membership on her behalf, but couldn't commit to keeping it going on my own. She loved what she saw and I know she would be able to rock the world if she was chosen for the anniversary giveaway.

A loving mom and a talented writer, I believe she deserves this opportunity to grow with the support of MomMasterminds :-)

I know I'm late, but I wanted to nominate a young woman called D Kai Wilson. She's an amazing person - ALWAYS giving and has just been hospitalised(again) after she was punched in the kidneys whilst trying to support her disabled child (who has an emotional/temprament issue). She's home now (which is why I'm late nominating her - I wasn't even sure if she'd be available to reply!) and is so worthy of this.

She's an incredible writer, coder, activist - she just lacks the knowhow (and spine!) to charge what she's worth, and has no business because of unscrupulous moms that just take and take and take. I think you know (and work with!) her already, but mommasterminds would be the kick she truly needed.

I'd love to help her do this.

    Jo
  • I see I didn't read instructions very well. Staci's business site is http://StaciJansma.com. I hope this doesn't dis-qualify her from being considered. And this is probably way too late for noticing my error.
Congratulations in advance to all the ladies who do win the MM membership!!
  • I would like to second Staci Jansma's nomination.
    Her site is: http://staciJansma.com
I believe she is very serious about working from home and has a lot to offer. She recently did a little work for me and was very dedicated and professional even though I couldn't really be due to being sick.

I believe she will really prosper from a MM life time membership.
  • Hoping my Mom (who is no doubt a mastermind and would fit the bill here..) won the membership.. who were the five winners?
    Thanks,
    Lisa (MsFitUniverse)
  • I know that I am late to nominate. But I would like to great Mom Masterminds a Happy Fifth Anniversary. Congratulations! Great site for work-at-home mom.
  • Happy Anniversary MM'ers!
